OK, this is driving me nuts. I have a Dell P990 monitor that i thought was starting to go out. It will get lines that go accross the screen and look like a bit of interference. it was getting really bad, so I switched with another 19 I had in the front room. After I switched the problem went away, meaning that the generic monitor does not do it and the Dell on the other PC does not as well. So thinking that it was maybe just a wierd thing going on, I switched them back. Now the Dell is doing it again. I was thinking Video Card, or my overclock, but why would it not do the same on the generic? I like the Dell because it is a flat screen, but this wierdness is killing my eyes! Any idea's?

does it have two little lines running across about a third of the way down, and two thirds of the way down? Cause those are normal, it is what holds the aperture grill in place, or something like that.

It does have the lines I am aware of what those are, but it is like the screen gets random lines that shoot accross the screen. The lines are a bit wavey. They come and go rapidly. I have moved my cordless mouse receiver, and turned off my wireless access point and it still happens. Yet if I change monitors it all goes away.

Does it make a noise when the lines come and go? If it makes a pining noise, change the outlet it's plugged into (take it off the surge protector it's on) and try it. Oftentimes this happens when the load is starting to get too great, it worked with me on my 21" having this issue.

If it DOESN'T make noise, well, maybe I don't understand the issue but it sounds like moire (sometimes looks like color swirls or inconsistant shading). If this is the case, your monitor should have built into the menu the ability to change and control this. Good luck!
