Every once in a while my monitor will mysteriously shut down. This is the message I receive when this happens:

"Monitor is working
Input 1: 93.8kHz/179Hz
Out of scan range
Change signal timing"

Here are the specs for my system:

Monitor: Compaq P1100 21"
Refresh Rate: 70
Screen resolution: 1024x768
Color quality: 32 bit

Video: PNY Ti4200 8x 64mb

The only options I have on the monitor resolution is 800x600 and 1024x768 and the only options I have for the refresh rate is 60, 70, and 72. I have the latest drivers for the graphics card as well as all of the softfaq on the monitor. Shouldn't I have quite a few more options with this monitor and card?

:( Something's up there! Be sure to select the monitor's own specialised driver rather than using PnP or generic drivers. If needs be try 'Standard 1600x1200' or the closest match. A monitor like that should be running 1280 @ 85Hz without probs ... nothing in your system indicates a limitation.

That is so funny. I have no idea why (most likely lack of sleep) but I selected my monitor from the list for the softpaq but also seen the 5017 flat panel model directly across from it. For some reason I thought they were the same. Now I have 1920x1440 and 144Hz! Its back to normal! Thx for the help.

That would have been some shipping fee! Atlanta, GA to England? I'd say around $250-300. This thing isn't exactly light but DAMN its big!
