Monitor is whistling?

My samsung Syncmaster 700NF has a bad case of mking noise lately. Some times if you wack it on the side it goes away. Is it getting ready to crap out? And is there anything I can do to fix it? It is out of warranty now so that isn't an option.

Sometimes you can change the display frequency of the video card to get rid of high pitched whines. Check under the advanced tab of your display properties, and then the adapter tab, to see if it can be adjusted.

Mine used to do that too, for some reason it stopped altogether. I used to get the most annoying high pitch whine. I found if I moved my monitor to certain positions it would stop the whine. The challenge was keeping it in that position.

And Eklass. Please elaborate on your friendly monitor. Even a sound clip would be nice.

Changed your REFRESH RATE in your Display Properties and that should fix it.

Anything above 60Hz should do the job.

Dude, I thought I am crazy to think that the high pictching noise came from my monitor hahahaha
I have like 3 monitor that we trow away in the office because of that problem......
Any idea what is causing it ?
