Monitor is making a very annoying high pitched sound

I have a Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91 19" monitor, it's about 4 years old. It just started making this very high pitched sound, and it's really annoying. Does anyone know how to fix it or what the cause is?
 
my Samsung 900NF does that now and then at certain resolutions. I believe it is one of the warning signs of impending monitor death.
 
Almost every TV/CRT puts off an extremely high-pitched whine. Most people can't hear it. I think the pitch just shifts a little as they get older, so maybe you couldn't hear it before but you can now. I doubt there's anything you can do about it besides give it to someone with less sensative hearing.
