We moved around some furniture in our house and now have the desktop pc over in the opposite corner of the house. What I am noticing is that the monitor "jitters" slightly. At some times it is worse than others, and is affected by which items are turned on in the household. I have tried different outlets (there are 2 in this corner), I have also tried running a heavy duty shielded extention cord from the outlet where the computer was previously. Neither solution fixed the "jitter" problem. I believe it is either poor wiring in the apartment, or some outside source causing a magnetic field. The monitor is a Samsung Syncmaster 753DF (which is a high end 17" CRT)
My questions are:
1) Is there a way to isolate whether it is the power from the outlet thats causing the problem vs. a magnetic field in the area?
2) Would a power conditioner help?
3) Also, I have read that LCD monitors should not be affected by magnetic interference like CRT's are, can anyone validate that statement?
