Monitor help and recommendations

Unfortunately, my 6 year old 17" compaq CRT is dying on me. It flashes on and off after being left on for a few hours. So, I figure it must be time to replace it.

I'm thinking LCD, I'm thinking widescreen, I'm thinking Bigger. I recall seeing some sort of link to a website that compared monitor sizes side by side and I've been searching for it for the past half hour or so with no luck. Does anyone know where it is? Even google failed me.

Anyways, I was thinking about picking this monitor. What do you guys think? I'd be getting it through the costco deal at $259. I plan on using it for games, movies, and casual pc use (word, AT, etc...) I'm not big into photo editing or anything like that if it matters.

Would that monitor be suitable for my needs? I really don't want to spend over 260 and I figured since it's coming from costco I'll be able to return it if I get some dead pixels in the first couple of months.

Thanks for the help guys.

Can't say, I've been looking for a monitor myself, so far I've got my eyes on a LG l204wt, it's a 20inch widescreen and is pretty good for gaming or so I've heard.
