Monitor has no display/PC won't fully boot up

So I turned it off my PC yesterday because of a storm and after it was over I decided to turn it back on. The PC powered on fine but the monitor was not displaying anything and the only visible lights on the setup were all the mouse lights and the power on light on my Corsair 200R case. It's actually done this before but not for this long though. I've already tried to disconnect all unnecessary cables to attempt to perform a POST but to no avail.

CPU: AMD ATHLON X4 760K MOTHERBOARD: MSI A78M E35 GPU: GTX 750 TI RAM: 8 GB PSU: CORSAIR 600W

do you have another monitor to try it on? That would help narrow down the cause.

If it is not the monitor, then it has to do with the graphics card. Swap cards if possible to see it if persists. You might want to try reseating the card to see if heat creep affected it. Could also be the system board having issues supplying enough power to it, either through its circuitry, or via the power supply. You might try to clears the CMOS of the motherboard as well.

If not those, then we are getting in the weird stuff. I've seen odd behaviours caused by unrelated hardware.

Storms are deadly to computers, even when they are turned off. I always suggest turning it off and unplugging it, or use a UPS. I've seen systems with all but a hard drive get fried by storms.

It could be any of those but what I find odd is that this all happened after it was off for about 30 mins and it's done this before but for not this long, though.

Could be a bad connection / circuit somewhere. Sometimes problems occur after a shut down, or a prolonged one. Again, changing monitors or reseating the card helps. I have seen a VGA connection not work while a DVI one did before, so try changing connector or connection type if possible

I tried a HDMI connection and didn't work. I'll try to reseat my GPU later.

With only the power cord connected to the monitor, turn the monitor on. It should light up momentarily then say something like HDMI/DVI/VGA disconnected before switching into sleep mode (if it goes into sleep mode at all). If it does not power on for at least a few seconds then the monitor is dead.

Had a similar issue with my Dell and a NvIdia card ... turns out the video card died .. new one fixed everything right up. Of course about 2 months later the old Dell Sony CRT Monitor called it quits as well.
