Sure, there are lots of freeware to read SMART data. I like this one:
PCWizard 2006
I believe their home page is

However, and this is important: the amount of SMART info depends on what your HDD manufacturer decides to reveal. For example on my Toshiba laptop, virtually nothing is revealed. But, PCWizard does report a "healthy" score of 99%.
The SMART data in PCWizard is found under "number of hard disks"
