You're definately going to be fine running it. Now gaming at native resolution... you might not be able to pull it off with newer games.

Poo, thats not too good. I am just lookin to game with this set up until September which is my birthday. I'll upgrade my computer then to everything top of the line. I have a 17 inch LCD monitor with analog. It's really cool. But don't you think it's getting kind of outdated ? I sure as hell think so. Anyway, I think by about september Vista's ganna be out rite ? Then I'll just upgrade to everything that direct x 10 can handle. If you have any other opinions please tell me. I have about 850 to spend. Thanks a bunch.

Please search for lots of other threads on the 2405FPW. And stop bumping your thread, please.

I feel like your original question was answered quite well by the first reply.

If you are wondering how well your 6800U will perform running as 1920x1200... either search for benchmarks, or subtract about 20-30% from 1600x1200 scores for a rough estimate.

If you have another, specific question, please ask it more clearly. If you just want opinions on the 2405FPW, there are many threads with them. In fact, I wrote one of them, so I know they are out there.

That was a very nice reply indeed. Thank you very much.

Restated - What should I do with my 850 $ ?

Leave monitor alone, DFI Ultra D Mobo, 2 Gigs ram, x1900xt ?
Or just the 24 incher ? I dont want crap FPS though...

So wuddaya think o_O

IMO w/ newer games coming out it will be pretty rough on your 6800 ultra ... you could get a 2005fpw and a new vid card and then sell the 2005fpw and vid card in Sept and buy a 2405 (or whatever) and the next gen vid card

Keep saving. Then buy a 2005FPW and an X1900XT.

Get that 2405 while you can. It will be some of the best $ you ever spent on your system.

I play LOMAC, WOW ect just fine. That monitor will last you a long time, get a new card ect.. later..

I didn't have the bucks to do it all so I bought me a 19" LCD to tide me over and I just love it. Maybe there will be a 2405 someday in the future, or maybe I will just settle for another 19 inch monitor??

I can tell you that I'm extremly pleased with my LCD monitor though. It ghosts a little in some games, but I can live with it.

The largest drawback to the 2405FPW, especially with Vista coming up, is that it's not totally clear how nicely it'll play without HDCP. It would suck if Blu-ray / HD-DVD got down rezzed on computer playback in Vista. I'd wait for the 2407FPW to get released and see the feature set on it. Especially input wise.

If you're dying to spend money on an upgrade now, I'd go with a 17" or 19" with DVI. LCDs over VGA are a big pet peeve of mine.
