Well, I built a new PC just two days ago and I asked for Dell 22'' 2240L as it's an IPS display but, the guy said we don't have that in stock, rather you can purchase Dell 24'' 2440L which is the same monitor but with a bigger screen, I said okay.
Later when I had the computer setup at home, I realized that there is backlight leakage on the left and little on the top. The image doesn't look that sharp, if I try to change the display modes, the white gets pale or the display gets a bit too sharpened.
Leakage:
I was little shocked and pinged a friend to check if I have a faulty monitor or what, he said first of, I am mistaken that it's an IPS display and to my horror ya it's not
I got so sad, I was in the shop and had no idea that this specific model comes with a VA Panel unlike the rest of the monitors by Dell in the S series
I have had a word with the computer dealer and he said, he understands that there had been a mistake and to pack the thing up, he will see what could be done maybe he would change it to some other model to some different company.
tl;dr?
So, what I want to know is which monitor should I switch to, and if the display of the IPS Monitor would be that much different compared to this one, honestly? I had a laptop before for couple of years and I really have no idea what to expect from an IPS display, I have heard and read it's just better and yeah. Would you guys suggest what to do, thank you.
