I'm on my 3rd system in 3 years thats had memory woes. The only bit of hardware in common is the monitor (a sony g420). Recently its started doing this thing where it goes out of focus, and then with a static "ping" the screen jumps and comes back into focus. Just got me wondering a) whats going on and b)whether theres any way in a million years that it could be sending s surge through the video card into the MB...

It might be totally eyball rollingly stupid, but please tell me if you think it is.

BTW, I'm running a UPS, with protected network too

I think its safe to say that the monitor could not in any way harm your memory, especially without taking out the video card and mobo too.

Sounds like your monitor is going bad. My 21" GDM F500 did that for a while, before it just up and died on me...

It won't hurt your RAM, but not sure what is causing the RAM problem.
