Monitor for Photoshop CS5

Need help please I need a monitor for my Photo editing but my budget is sub £250. I would like to spend a lot less.
Any sudgestions.

Widescreen
22inch minimum
HDMI or DVI (not sure which is best)

Dell have many models and it has me confused.

NEC EA231WMi. It's an e-IPS panel, which is a bit worse than a true H-IPS or S-IPS panel, but it's far better than cheap TN panel monitors. IPS panels have better color accuracy and viewing angles than TN panels, while TN panels have better response time (focused on gaming), but horrible color accuracy and poor viewing angles. Best of all, the EA231WMi can be found for $250-300ish USD.

Dell also has the U2311H which uses the same panel as the EA231WMi from what I've heard. The general concensus seems to be that the NEC is slightly better for a few reasons, though.

Go with what CurseTheSky said. Those two monitors are probably the best you're going to do in that price range (although if you stretch a bit and really look for a deal, you might be able to get a Dell U2410, which is a 24" panel).

...yet you're suggesting that he buys some cheap TN panel monitors for photo work?

If you don't do photo work or anything that requires decent color accuracy, don't bother making suggestions. TN panels are junk for professional work. Even the EA231WMi is fairly sub-standard for professional work, but it's the absolute best he's going to do in his price range unless he manages to find a helluva deal on a used professional monitor (unlikely). The e-IPS panel in the models I suggested will easy kick any TN panel to the curb.

you're better off adding him to your ignore list. he's piling up tons of useless spam posts with irrelevant or inane commentary. He's like one of tweakboy's split personalities that broke off, got a separate account, and tries to be funny on purpose while still spewing out incomprehensible or wrong information. At least trying to figure out what tweakboy meant is partially entertaining.
