Monitor Flickering Problem

Hey all-

I'm having a bit of monitor trouble and was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I have a viewsonic E90-f 19 inch CRT monitor which I bought about 3 months ago. Every once in a while the screen (especially the lower right hand corner) will flicker uncontrollably - usually this problem seems to go away by itself but not it has been doing it for a while. I have tried degaussing the monitor and reinstalling video drivers and monitor drivers (ing file) and checking connections but nothing seems to work. The only way I can get to stop flickering is to run it 60 as opposed to 70 or 75 hertz. 60 hertz is a really crappy refresh rate though so I would really like to be able to restore it to 75 - anyone have suggestions?

Does not sound like emi but have you ruled out any nearby electrical equipment, speakers? Also I would try plugging the monitor into a different outlet.

i have a 400 watt sound system but i have tried plugging it and unplugging it - even put the monitor on its own separate plug but im still getting the shaking

u know what i i fixed it - i played around with my power cord setup - i should have thought of that i am in a dorm so the power can fluctuate too thanks for the help man

My monitor is actually flickering in a bit too (and i'm in a dorm lol)...how exactly did u set up ur power cords?
