HELLO,

A PC that I just built has monitor flicker that intensifies during HardDrive access. It also has strange crashes sometimes, like when I try to print a picture.

Also, when it starts, after the Windows XP loading screen finishes, the screen turns black for 30 seconds, and I hear one (or two) clicks from the Power Button of my Antec case. Then Windows XP comes to the login screen.

Do you guys think that these problems are connected? I am guessing that it could be the Power Supply, although it is a 430W. It is a generic Power Supply that came with the Antec case. What do you think? Would a defective (or low quality) Power Supply cause these sort of problems?

I appreciate any help very much.

THANKS

Are you sure that clicking you are hearing the is not the video mode
changing on your monitor?

It could be that your monitor is causing the problems with lack of shielding
or a bad cable.

The crashing trying to print can be the result of alot of factors.
Software used, type of Pic, printer drivers etc...

Even the generic Power Supply's that come with the Antec cases are more than sufficient.

Yes, I am sure that the clicking is not coming from the monitor. As for printing pictures, I know that it has nothing to do with software used, type of picture, or printer drivers. It is using the XP drivers that work fine on another PC that uses the same printer, and the same pictures print fine from the other PC.

I know that the monitor could be defective, but that does not explain the other problems, or why it jitters when the HardDrive is accessed.
