I have a CTR monitor that will not turn on (black screen). It keep on clicking every 2-3 seconds when the power is plug in, and the power indicating on the on/off button always on (can?t press to turn off or on).

After the casing was remove the clicking stop, but I still don?t get any video signal. There is no visual damage of charred parts (all caps, registers, power unit, fuse, wirings seemed to be fine).

What could be the cause of my trouble? And, could it be the switch that is the culprit?

A monitor is nothing to play with. You can easily electrocute yourself if you touch a wrong part even if the unit is not plugged in as it stores electricity.

Your best bet is to bring the monitor in to be repaired to an authorized service center or just replace the part.

Thanks for the warning, but I do know that I should stay away from the cable that connect the anode to the capacitor. And, I need to discharge the 20000~40000 volts by placing a ohms/V resistor or a ground screwdriver under the anode cap....and use a voltmeter to double check.
