Monitor driverz?

I just got a Sony 19" G400 monitor and I was just wondering if it comes with a driver itself... Is it a big deal with/witout a driver? Cuz I know sometimes monitors without a proper driver in OS will cause problems. I heard that without one, the monitor sometimes can't be shut down or it won't go into the standby mode or somethin. If someone can explain this a lil bit then I'd appreciate it. Thx

It is not necessary to install a driver since Windows generally has a generic driver for monitors. However, if you do install a driver produced by Sony you can usually get optimal resolutions and refresh rates. I don't know if the monitor came with drivers, but if they are available you should be able to download them off of the internet.

when you do windows update... the drivers should automatically be updated though.
