Hey guys,

This is extremely frustrating. About 2 weeks ago, my computer stopped working.

My computer would power on, lights and fans would come on, but nothing would come onto my monitor.

after tinkering with a bunch of things, no such luck. trying 3 different motherboards, i came to my own conclusion that it was my video card.

Well i sent my video card in for an RMA, and went to the place to do the RMA, and they gave me a brand new identitcal video card, got it home, and my computer is doing the same thing.

So i dont think its a video card problem. Its not a monitor problem either as I can use one of my motherboards that has an S3 intregrated video boards on, and it works just fine.

So its not my video card, not my monitor and not the motherboard. Power supply is a 450watt PS.

So im at an extreme loss.

Anyone have any idea's.

Also, my video card is getting some kind of power as it powers its fans on, even without the 4 pin molex connected to it.

Asrock Dual Sata II
MSI NX6600GT AGP

Wait, so, if you use the motherboard with the onboard video and no video card it works, but as soon as you put the video card in *that* motherboard it doesn't, or are you referring to ANOTHER pc with the onboard video?

hi,
My asrock dual sata 2 has the S939 A64 3500 + and does not have onboard video, but thats the board I originally had in that started this snowball.

Right now, im using a K7AVV (or something like it) using an AXP 2000+ and that one has AGP and onboard video.

So as soon as I put the AGP card into the K7AVV (not sure lol)and hook the monitor to the video card nothing works. It wont post, but as soon as I take the AGP card out, and plug the monitor back into the onboard video, it works fine.

My main issue is that the onboard video card is supported by a S3 chip, and it is not powerfull enough to run my monitor at native res of 1680*1050, so it looks bad on the eyes, and i cant play games as it only uses 32mb shared ram.
