in the afternoon, i turned on my computer and the monitor goes on idle mode. I can hear the starting windows theme and everything seems to work properly but nothing shows on the screen. Im pretty sure that the monitor is working and EVERYTHING is connected all right. Then i turned off my power supply and turned it back on again and tried it again and it worked...but the internet did not work so i restarted my computer and same problem again. I have an Asus-A8n-Sli motherboard and i was wondering if any of you guys can help me. I think it has to do with the power through my computer but im not sure. thank you! :D :D

What kind of video card do you have?

my 6600gt does that sometimes, but once it reaches windows my monitor would turn on and start showing things. I found out that on the card, it would output from the vga during boot, then output from my dvi once in windows.... doesn't do it on my new 6800

Is the card AGP? Does your mobo have a Via Chipset. Ive had problems with AGP cards on Via chipsets. From what I have learned, the chipset doesnt always correctly allocate resources to the AGP slot. Not sure what that means, but I know that I have had that problem on two systems, both with the same Via Chipset.
