Whoa, pull up a bit thar, cowboy. Don't be so quick to send the boy under the hood just yet. Look at the Ops' post count, and don't assume everyone knows how to reset the cmos,(pliers with the power still on), or what to do after,(palette snoop). IMO, clearing the cmos would do absolutely nothing for him anyway. If the cpu was overheating, would it still be sending commands to the HD keeping it spinning up? BE patient, ask the OP a few questions, e.g. , sys. specs. , and where to find them, does he have any utils. like coretemp, or cpuz, any new down loads, drivers, plug-ins, porn, is the monitors cable secure?
