I'm trying to determine whether my laptop, the Asus G73JW-XA1:

would be able to use this monitor, the Dell U3011, at its full resolution of 2560x1600 (I want it to run at that resolution, not just 1920x1080):

At least one person on the Dell reviews claims to have done this successfully:

He claims to have done this with a simple dual link dvi to hdmi adapter. However from what I've read elsewhere, a lot of people claim it is not possible due to a limitation either of the graphics card or the particular hdmi port on the laptop itself.
The laptop has only one HDMI port and no DVI ports and no displayport or mini displayport.
Do you know if I would be able to get this monitor working at 1600p with my laptop? If so, what wires/adapters would I need?
Also would this come at the cost of reducing the refresh rate below 60hz or should I be able to maintain the full refresh rate?
Thanks
