Monitor choice

i am trying to sell my Dell u3011 right now and am trying to decide what I want to replace it with.

Option number one is to keep trying to catch an asus ROG swift in stock, and go with they.

Option 2 is to maybe get one of the Acer 4k Gsync monitors.

Option 3 would be to pick up 3 Asus VG248QE 144hz monitors and run them
In surround.

I currently have two 780Ti superclocked cards in SLI, and pretty much only play Battlefield 4.

With that in mind, what would be my best option, since they are roughly the same price? The machine is used for homework and battlefield, and not much else. The ROG swift really appeals to be, but so do the other options (and eyefinity/surround gaming has always intrigued me). If it was your choice, what way would you go?

Thanks in advance

I love it, but I want to either try a higher refresh rate, Gsync, or 4K. I could just keep it, but I have had an upgrade itch for a while so I started looking at monitors.

That one is a little too pricey for me.

The acer 4k Gsync monitor is in stock on Amazon at the moment, and I have been watching for the RoG on Nowinstock.net.

The 4k acer is tempting, but I am on the fence as since I have never used a 120/144hz monitor for gaming, I don't want to miss out if I am able to get one of the Swift displays.

It is not the best time to find a monitor. Wait for 6 months so the market can move a little: releases of new products and technologies.

Agree with Karlitos. Waiting is prudent right now.

If you need to get something as a futile attempt to fill the bottomless void of your soul (I'm familiar), then I'd say try to get yourself the Swift. I don't think your setup will give you enough oomf for solid 4K BF4.

I'm going to wait for Ultrawide Freesync, personally.

BF4 is amazing in 4k.

BF4 runs very well at 4k but alot of new games arent as well optimized as BF4...many games run bad at 4K. Until nvidia improves SLI the only viability solution is that furnace called the R9 295X 😄

Might be your lucky day because the Acer B326HK just became available at Newegg :D

It's cheaper than the msrp of the Dell U3011 too heh.

I see that the Acer 4k monitor is down to $717 now, from $799. that certainly makes it more interesting.

I have had two more 10 minute stock windows for the Rog Swift, and both times I could not add it to cart and check out. Very frustrating.

I have been looking at that deal, and while it is temping to buy even a pair of them, I figure if I am going to go from an IPS panel to a TN, I will need something other than just 4k resolution, like gsync, or the higher refresh rate like on the swift.

It is so very tempting however.

I would just wait, there a number of features/technologies that have yet to 'merge' yet. Would suck to pay 800 for the swift when in a year that will be the standard for all $300 monitors.
