Monitor changes color

Hi
I have been using this HP Pavilion 8595c for sometime now.
It's a Intel 733.A couple of days ago the monitor started to change color to red, then to blue, and it was good for a couple of hours then did the same thing again.I wanted to know if it is video problem or a monitor one.
I ran the directX diagnostic tools in win98 but it was ok.
Help please.
thank you😕

No i am not kicking the cable.
I seems the monitor looses it's other colors and goes to red or magenta.
and then after sometime it's changes to regular color.

If the color changes abruptly, there's a bad connection (cable - external or internal, solder, cracked resistor), but if it's gradual it's probably a bad electrolytic capacitor (but usually the picture will also be dim at the beginning).

Sounds like its the cable... try moving the c onnection between the video card and the cable around.

OK
If it's the cable then,I think I should change the Monitor,'cause the other end of the cable connecting to the monitor is undetachable.I cannot change the monitor cable.
I just want to make sure it is not the video card.
