Monitor calibration

Not sure whether to ask this here or in software.

I recently got a new monitor and the colors always seem a little off. The contrast/brightness setting are also off. If i set teh contrast so i can distinguish between white and grays more clearly, it feels too dark.

are there any monitor calibration programs out there I can try out?

There is a program that Iiyama have on their website.

Can't see why it wouldn't work for other type monitors.

Do you still have the diskette that comes with the monitor?

Just google moniter calibration you'll find a bunch of sites that can help you
