Monitor buying guide

Want to buy / order one over the weekend, and thought should ask somebody whether there is any online guide to picking a decent monitor.

There are so many options available in the market, and I dont want to buy something sub-par quality and shell out 400+ bucks..

Any pointers to good websites would be appreciated.

I Googled for some guides, but most of the guides / benchmark tests I came across were done in 2003 -- which would be pretty out dated.

Thanks.

I just bought a NEC 17" MultiSync LCD 1770GX and I'm happy with it for $400 CND, DVI cable included, 4 USB ports 8ms besides that I know nothing else about it, it looks real good.

if you're going to go bigger than 19", why not go bigger than 20", because once you go over 19 its hard to find good deals on them, a lot of 19" are $200-300

There's plenty of 19 inch LCD's for less than $300.

I bought a Polywell 19inch and a CMV 19inch for my friend
at Newegg.com. Both DVI and Analog cables included.

They are like 22ms with 800 to 1 contrast ratio.

They look great..CMV makes panels for many manufacturers.

Why pay more?
