Does anyone happen to know which monitors come in the boxes where the pictures of the monitors on the outside of the box have reflective images for the screen? because my store has a bunch of those. I'll check tomorrow on what we have, if we have any of them that go down in price, I'll take what I want...probably tell all the other associates, err...excuse me..we are "team members" now...and then whatever's left over I'll let you guys know about..and then I'll let you know what store I work at.
Just being honest here, you know that any omax employee on here that reads these will do the exact same thing...

and Zach, thanks for letting me know about this thread. I'll see if that one you were looking at has gone down in price, and if it has I'll put it on hold for you.

I was with Tomcat when we got the 19" and I can tell you that one of the suggestions that the employees made was that we could buy it then and then wait for the price to drop. We would have taken that offer, like the rest of you , if it had not been for an employee promising us the monitors pricedrop in exchange for the website that we got the information from (not this site, the fake one). Because we had driven an hour to specially come to pick up the monitor we had on hold we were able to get them to abide by their previous pledge. Good luck getting in on this deal. I wish the Manchester store had had a TFT one as well. Life goes on though

If the stores have the monitors, where would they be? I went to the local OM yesterday and I didn't see any monitors except a 15" and a 19" Generic (I think it said Mirage?) CRT. The only other stuff there was Gateway stuff.

Would they keep them in the back? I would have to ask for assistance then, and that wouldn't be cool.

Carpenter Rd store (Ann Arbor, MI) had at least a 15 in and 19 in display- Proviews. Lots of tags for them and the 17in, but don't know what they actually had. This was yesterday adn they scanned at the regular price. Didn't buy anything.

they are only supposed to have two monitors on display per the plan-o-gram (document that tells them what and where to display merchandise)....any extras would be locked-up, so yes, you will have to ask....

Neo, Please be nice enought to tell us when the update actually goes out, so i hopefully don't tip them off (but i'd say the cat's out of the bag when nearly every monitor gets bought out of the store on one weekend!)

I nabbed a PX-982, but not without a little hassle. They had one on display here in Fresno/Shaw location, and I thought it was the only one left. I grabbed the shelf tag, took it up to the counter, and was happy to find that there was 4 of them! I debated with myself as to whether or not I should just nab them all and fleabay them.... but I realized I only had my bank card and not my credit card so I only got one. The guy came back with it, and after I bought it and took it to the car, did I realize that he had gotten me a PX-986 instead. My stomach kinda turned and I remembered what you guys had said about the 986 not being discontinued, so I dragged it back into the store.... looked at the shelf where the guy had gotten it from..... three 986s and ONE 982 hidden in the very corner.... so I did the ol swapperooo, taking the very last 982. Pranced my way out even though I paid full price, in hopes that they would lower it within 14 days, so here's a waitin!!!!!!!

Sure hope this works out! I think so though, the monitors are only different in their dot pitch so I can understand why OMAX would wanna get rid of the older model. It seems to me though that they are shifting their focus to Gateway country now and getting rid of their entire monitor line.... ??? Hmmmmm who knows, but I'm sure that they'll close them all out soon enough.

There is no blowout that I know of. The guy I spoke with thought we were crazy for thinking that we can get a 15" monitor for 8 bucks.

I went to my local Officemax today (Rochester, MN) and the salesman told me that they stopped selling monitors a year ago. But Neo said that there was one TFT in this store, I don't think anyone at Officemax has a clue. NeoV, can you tell me if there are any monitors at all in Rochester MN store (0262).

I went Saturday, Sunday, and today (Monday). Today the employee (presumably the manager) told me that their price updates happen on Tuesday or Wednesday. So I guess I'll return then. Thought I should share that, but I'm sure NeoV will tell us when they happen exactly.

I also live in Mechanicsville, well Ashcreek, and I saw a 982 at the West Broad by CompUSA on Saturday. Brook road only had 986's, well that I could find. The did seem to think they were the same model at the Brook Rd. store.
