monitor blinks

My monitor blinks,or shall I say goes black for a second during window transitions, when a page refreshes, or scrolling. It mostly occurs while on the internet,(surfing) and no matter which browser I am using. Off internet things seem fine; sound, video, games, and dvd. I think this started happening after I installed the Audigy sound card,(a known problem creator), but I show no conflicts; (maybe a different slot??). Have already tried different resolutions. This is a fairly new build and the problem is almost bearable, but still annoying, that and the usb mouse isn?t detected every 3 or 4 boots.
Some specs: Asus A8N-sli deluxe/ bios 1006
Athlon 64 3500 Newcastle (stock speed)
Matched Corsair 3200XL 512x2
Single 6800 ultra ( 81.95 forceware)
Non raid Raptor 74
Audigy2 ZS platinum
Dell 2001fp lcd monitor
Enermax 535 watt
Sorry for not formatting this post correctly, I?ve been out of the loop for a very long time; Runz

Interesting indeed, for I have never seen this before. I highly doubt the monitor;for this monitor has worked perfect on several computers, including this one, up until I installed the Audigy card,or maybe the forceware drivers.I really believe this is a driver or IRQ problem.
I also don't think it's the forceware drivers, never heard any complaints before. My gut feeling it's the Audigy don't know why, wish I knew. Think I'll start by moving the card,(PITA,not much room), wish it were as simple as reinstalling drivers, or rolling them back, but like i said
gut feelings. Thanks for responce Malak, I'll post back tomorrow. Runz; out

Well, I've heard lots of complaints on both forceware drivers and the audigy, so it could be either of them. I'd try just taking the sound card out altogether and see if your monitor still blinks. That can rule it out.

Good point Malak, I won't even bother engaging onboard sound,or moving the card and see. montag reminded me to add my psu, edited above.
I'll try first thing tomorrow and let you know. BTW, don't much care for Audigy sounds cards, but this is the mrs. computer, and with her new Creative gigaworks 7.1's I thought I'd give them one more try. I find the cards too invasive, and too much a resource hog; kind of like AOL
every where you go there it is! nite; Runz

Tried unplugging just the Audigy this morn, monitor still blinks. Did not try uninstalling the Creative drivers, figure if drivers aren't being called for, no need; right?
Did a search on the 81.95 forceware drivers, no one seems to have problems with them.
All Nvidia settings are default, could play around with a few, but there are oh so many!
Perhaps I'll try a reinstall of the 81.95's, but this time use the drivercleaner util. ???
Another mystery, why only on the internet? could this be an ethernet problem? Should I try the usb connection to the cable modem? runz

I think the biggest mystery is that, why only on the internet? It's a very odd issue. I guess try drivercleaner and reinstall the GPU.

I had the same thing, only to a greater extent. Mine did it all the time. For me, it was my PSU that was going out. I have a new one coming tomorrow, so hopefully that fixes it.

Just tried switching from the ethernet to a usb connection for the cable modem,-- nope that ain't it. Doubt very seriously it's my psu. Guess I'll try a clean reinstall of the 81.95's, after that, a roll back?, after that, grin and bare it?
Have a few errands to run, check back later. Runz, out

That's really the only thing I could think of runz. Clean install, then maybe rollback. If rolling back works, you might want to shoot an email to nvidia about the situation with a dxdiag report.

First, I used the add and remove in device manager to remove the drivers, rebooted.
Then, I used drivercleaner, to remove ONLY the nvidia drivers,(careful here people, cleaner can remove more than what you intend), rebooted. At this point I thought for sure I'd need safe mode, but kept my finger off F8, it booted fine, Hmmmm, a vid card without drivers?
I then reinstalled the 81.95's,rebooted, and TA-DA! NO MORE BLINKS
Everything seems to be running fine, the cable modem is still on usb, but I should easily be able to switch back to ethernet. There are a couple of yellow flags in device manager now;
Other pci bridge device? don't know
pci memory controller? don't know
S M bus controller? don't know, but I think I had one of those in grade school.
Like I said, things seem fine, and this is the Mrs. computer, so if it ain't broke don't fix it.
She can now get back to her games, imagine a 62 year old retired school teacher who's become an FPS killer with 700watt sound, the neighbors in our retirement community are kept on their toes. MY computers, on the other hand, are fixed till they are broke.
Thanks for lending an ear; Runz

I've never used drivercleaner, never had the need, but do you suppose it may have caused those flags in device manager?

Often times simply using the apps, or programs uninstall, or windows add, and remove will not get rid of everything related to it,(dll's,etc). Drivercleaner is the fastest, easiest way to
eliminate EVERY thing related to nvidia, ati, and creative, the latter is probably the reason for the flags. I have driven this computer round the block a few times, and she's running just fine, sooooo, let sleeping dogs lie. As to what may have created the problem in the first place, I think I stacked the 81.95's on top of the originals, without first using drivercleaner,
get my drift? Of coarse I could be wrong, as clearly shown in my above posts, gut feelings
aren't always right. Computers are alot like women, just when you think everything is running smoothly, BAM!! and your sitting there saying, wud I do, wud I do, wud I do.
