Monitor blinking shifted colors

I have an HP A4033A (rebadged Sony Trinitron) from the very early 90's, I think it's a '92. I got it used back in '95.

Anyway, it was working great until yesterday. I had played HL2 for a couple hours and then shutdown. A few hours later, I fired it up to check e-mail etc. and it started flashing/distorting the colors. The colors were displayed correctly (reds were red, yellows yellow, etc.), but they had a definite blue shift to them. The monitor is flashing normal colors > blue shift colors > regular colors. There isn't any regular cycle to it that I can see; it'll be OK a few seconds, shifted briefly, OK briefly, shifted for a bit, etc - pretty random in each state. The only thing I can think of is that the display is losing the color temp control (Kelvin adjustment, usually only used by graphics / desktop publishing editors).

Has anyone had a similar issue or know how to fix this? My specs are in my sig, but the relevant items are:

HP A4033A (1280x960 @ 70Hz)
Gigabyte 6600GT SLI
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe

Thanks.

What are you running now? I'm thinking of getting a fairly cheap 20"+ monitor. I hear the SED displays (basically it's a flat panel CRT) are supposed to be available early next year, and I may hold off busting out the big bucks on a monitor for one of those.
