I was looking for a very good 17 inch monitor and bought a Philips 107P20. It use a DiamondTron tube. It had bad geometri in the corner-areas so I finally returned it. Then I looked at Samsung 700NF which also uses this tube, but although it was a bit better, it was far from perfect. My choice fell on Sony G200 FD Trinitron. This REAL flat tube is perfect! The Philips and Samsungs are not REAL flat! They have a small curve in the horizontal plane (like a big cylinder if you know what I mean) and then a totally flat glass screen over that so that it LOOKS AS IF IT´S FLAT BUT IT`S A FAKE!
I recommend: buy Sony even if it costs a little more because you get what you pay for!
Ok I know, if you don´t have the money it+s hard, but save a bit more and you are in heaven!
