The display said "no signal" and the lights on the mouse and keyboard went out. I checked the connections for everything and they were all fine so I pressed the reset button on the computer. When starting the display, mouse, and keyboard still don't work, but the num lock light on the keyboard turns on for a second. I don't know a ton about building computers so I was hoping someone could help me trouble shoot this.

If this is a computer from a store can you give us a make and model?

If it was built can you give us specs?

When you start the computer, do you hear fans spinning and see lights on the tower? If you see lights, do you see the yellow hard drive light doing anything when you turn it on? If you do see the yellow light, is it flashing or solid?

After looking around online I found other people with the same issue and it was suggested to start by reseating the ram which fixed my issues immediately. It turns out one had come loose.

But yes the lights/fans were on and the hard drives spun up but there were no lights. This was a computer that someone else built so I don't know the specs/parts.

Sorry for not posting that it was already fixed, and thank you for trying to help.

Congratulations on fixing it, and thanks for not leaving this thread hanging for the answer. Yes, sometimes RAM does work its way loose. Especially if you're in a vibration-prone area (have a train track near your house, etc).
