Monitor and motherboard question

I got the p4p800 and an old gateway2000 vivitron 1776 monitor. The monitor hook up has male pins and so does the motherboard, is there any way to get around this?
 
Aren't you confusing serial to vga?

VGA from monitors has always been male and that of the VGA card always been female. Has been like this since the 80s 😀
