have my system hooked upto a monitor and thought it would be a good idea so that while i am playing games that if i had a dual screen system then my other half could watch stuff is it possible ?

tried to see if i can get my monitor and hdmi tv recognised at the same time but no luck amd control just does not recognise the tv at all

It should work, and you can use other controls to let the other person adjust volume, pause/playback etc. while you use the mouse/keyboard. I'm thinking something like an infrared remote or bluetooth multimedia controller (there are apps for that).

Why does your computer not recognize the TV at all? I wonder if you have to plug in the TV, then tell the computer to enable the second display under the display properties (right click on desktop, and select screen resolution to see if the displays are grayed out and if you can "enable" the grayed display corresponding to your TV).

Or, maybe you need to adjust the TV settings in the menu, to tell the TV to use the input port where the HDMI cable is connected?

well when i go into screen resolution it does go second screen detected but all it says display device on vga for the secon

when i un plug the hdmi and re plug in for a moment my actual monitor screen flickers for a second and i have my tv set to that port to

my tv has a vga port so i am suspecting i may have to use that instead
