Hey I just brought a z77 mobo (p8z77 Deluxe) I am looking for a monitor and cant decide. Other than surf the web and do a little word stuff here and there i will watch some hd movies and video encoding. Im not really a gamer but i wil play C@C Tiberium Wars once in a while. I know have Batman Arkham Asylum and want to start playing it. Of the monitors below which would you suggest? (looking for either a 21 inch or a 24 inch) I don't care about 3d.

I want something where the colors don't have that washed out look but also at the same time the text looks sharp. Does a casual gamer like myself need to worry about response time? Also at his point since i want this monitor to last for the next 3 to 5 years should i make sure the card has both display port and hdmi connections?

Also i have a Evga gtx 460. Would buying a R7770 card such as this be considered much of an upgrade?

So basically
1) Suggest a monitor 21 to 24 inches(want to stay under $225 but if its a great monitor will pay 300ish)
2) Do i make sure there are hdmi and display port connections on the monitor?
3) Grab a R7770 to replace a Gtx 460?

Thanks for any help and sorry for the long winded questions

Monitor
1.Dell UltraSharp U2412M
GC
2.Don't bother with R7770 it won't be much of an upgrade over 460.U didn't mention ur budget , u can buy a 7850 now and add another one down the line if u need it.I will wait to see the NV's lineup before buying the graphics card though.

Whatever monitor you get, I would make sure it is 1920x1200. I tried using a 1080p monitor after being used to 1200 and hated the loss of 120 lines of resolution. As far as video cards-how about a used Ati hd5870, they are going for $120-150 and are a very strong card.
Rick out!
