Hello I been a long time reader of this forum and respect the info and advice given here.

I am looking to replace a old wide screen SONY GDM-FW900 that finally died. I am looking for something with good color reproduction and viewing angles and have decided that IPS may be my best bet. I was looking at both dell and NEC .

does anyone have any experience with this model and a opinion?

Hadnt been monitor shopping for quite awhile myself and was surprised to see all the new brands/style IPS units available including LED backlight. There seems to be everything from Asus, LG to Samsung and more (eg, Dell). You may find that you dont even need something as expensive or sophisticated as the NEC. I use an Asus PA246Q and am quite pleased with it across the board (text, to photographic work to movies), but it is wide gamut.

I will be getting the Asus PA238Q next week. I heard good things in the reviews but its like hit and miss with the backlight bleed.

Hoping I get a good one or that the backlight bleed is not too bad.
