Monitor Acting Screwy

Well, my wife is going to kill me when she gets home.

I was hopping on her system for a little while when for no reason that I could tell, the right hand bottom corner of her monitor (crt) started displaying a lovely rainbow hue.

I checked around for magnets and found none, so that was not the problem, then I tried to degauss with no effect. 😕

It's a sony trinitron tube, and I understand that they refurb the things so much that it is not funny.

Any other suggestions as to what should/could be done?
 
Warranty expired about a month and a half ago.

Tried resetting, trying powering it down for a little while now and seeing if it clears itself up (tough chance)

My next thing to try will probably be a sledge hammer.

Well, she has been wanting an LCD monitor, so I guess she has an excuse now.

Yup, start browsing through the Hot Deals forum and Fatwallet. There are some pretty decent deals out.
