Hi there im lookin into gettina new miniter prob a 19 in and i was woundering what the difference is between Trinatron moniters, ones with shodow mask, and whatever other things they put into them now adays?
 
Trinitron CRTs feature better contrast and color saturation over shadowmask CRTs. They are also much brighter. You'll find that shadowmask CRTs usually have a tighter DOT pitch and may look sharper. Trinitron CRTs are usually more expensive but it's worth it once you lay your eyes on one and start using it. I recommend any Sony brand monitor (G400, G420S) or look for another manufacturer that uses their tubes.
 
yea ive seen trinatron moniters there nice but ive also seen some that are shadow maak and i really cant tell the diff between the 2
 
The main difference I've noticed between my new Sony Trinitron and my old Philips Shadowmask is that everything is sharper and clearer. That and the flat screen. 😉
