Moniter Problem!

Hello.

I have a 19 inch Compaq MV720 moniter. I have had it since around late 1999.

It has worked absolutely flawlessly since then, and has been so good to me.

Recently, I was just web browsing and listening to music, and the screen just became really blurry. I know it is the moniter. The moniter does this even in dos since then. I have tried another moniter to make sure the video card is good.

The weird thing is, if I reduce the contrast, then the blurryness goes away as I turn it down, and it coems right back as I turn the contrast back up.

I have reset the moniter's internal settings to no avail.

I am currently stuck using a 15 inch emachines moniter that does 1024 at 60hz.

Please advise.

Thank you all for the help. It looks like it is time to buy a new moniter. What I don't understand is why my even older 15 inch emachines moniter is still running perfectly.

simple thing to suggest, but ya never know, make sure you dont have speakers too near the monitor, if they are not shielded magnetically at can affect your monitor in various ways...or for that matter any other source of magnetism (ie fridge magnets...heh)
