Moniter getting fuzzy! T_T HELP

Hiya. I have a Samsung 955DF that I've been using for the past 3-4 years now. Lately (about a month ago) I've noticed that the monitor was becoming slightly unfocused. Over time, it progressively got worse, and now, even with the screen size very small, I can barely read anything on my screen. This happens with any resolution (although lower resolutions seem clearer, but that could just be from bigger fonts) and anything higher than 1280-1024 (what I'm running now). I've tried changing the hertz and that doesn't help either (btw, I'm running 75hz and have been for a while). I've also tried fooling around with the settings in the monitor (focus, moire, degauss, recall, everything) and nothing seems to help. Anyone know if this is a natural thing that monitors tend to do or is something just wrong.

PS. I think that I noticed the fuzziness when I reformatted my computer. I tried different drivers as well and it doesn't help one bit.

Thanks for your time... and if possible, make it a big font =P

Look in the back and see if theres a focus nob, it might be inside a hole and need a screwdriver to access. My dad brought back a monitor from work and it has marked "broken: fuzzy" and all i had to fix was twisting a small knob w/ a screwdriver.

Just looked and I couldn't find anything... thanks for the reply though.

I'll try to look in the manual or something to see if there is anything of that sort... thanks

If you are handy with a acrewdriver, you can open the monitor and adjust the focus.

Warning: There are very high voltage locations inside. Stay away from the thick wire that attaches to the monitor tube off center in the back!

You will usually find the focus adjustment in the high tension generator area, but thy would be on the outside of a small circuit board or heatsink. Do not poke a screwdrivr into the high tension area!

You're scaring me Jesse T_T... but since you told me, now I have to do it. Are there any guides that I can read to help me through this?

1. Step barefeet into ice water
2. Touch high tension area
3. Repeat

lol jk, best of luck to you.

Hmm... unsuccessful. I couldn't find the focus thingy inside, althought I found some other nifty stuff that helped a little bit around the edged.

Does anyone know where specifically the focus potentiometers are on the Samsung 955DF?

Sounds like it might be nearing the end of its days. Let us know if the guide helps you out.

Well it got me as far as taking the monitor apart, but I just couldn't find the potentiometer thingy...
