There's nothing new here, so it's kind of disappointing really. Except that Clinton got close to almost being indicted...which is at least semi-interesting. The whole episode does continue to show how weak Clinton's personal conviction was. That he needed to have affairs with that many women is more sad than anything else.

I believe he was investigating who knew what that maybe they werent supposed to. At the time, who knew Monica's only ambition couldve been...she just loves giving BJ's (shame on her for not swallowing though. Not very lady like). For all we knew she was after some confidential info, and everyone knows a guy's dick is his weakness.

Not to mention he already had a history of sexual harassment. Did she blow willingly? Or was it for favor? Who knew? Sure we suspected, but such things need to be investigated nonetheless.

Ken Starr was appointed to investigate a shady land deal in Arkansas. A blowjob in the Oval Office is an awfully long way from that, and it's one of the biggest reasons why the independent counsel law is no longer on the books.

It was a shit show all around, and everyone came out of it looking terrible. Ken Starr behaved irresponsibly and went WAY beyond what he was supposed to investigate, and Clinton lied under oath.

I have said it before i will say it again. him cheating on his wife should only be between him, his wife and the god (if any) he prays to.

only issue i ever had with him is his lieing under oath.
I didn't care about that as it was a question that had no business being asked and had nothing to do with our countries National Security. I mean it didn't involve sending troops over seas and invading a Sovereign nation based on fabricated bullshit.

I do. he was President. he should fallow the laws of the land he is sopposed to be leading.

the should have got in trouble for it. Granted i do aggree it should NEVER have been brought up. Starr went so far outside of the scope of the original investigation that its rather scary.

But Clinton should have been punished in court of law for lieing under oath. but then who gives a shit what monica has to say NOW many years after the fact and if anyone holds this against Hilary is a idiot.

The only concern I have with Hillary in this effect is that she was either too blind to see/sense what was going on; or she did not care.

Either one makes for a poor quality leader

as a chief executive he has elevated responsibility. He's supposed to set an example. All the rhetoric about JFK and he did it too fails to let him off the hook. He is reckless and the record indicates that.

Nonsense. You don't seem to know much about adultery and marriage,

Rather than try to explain anything on that to you, a futile approach, I'll point out that you just called Eleanor Roosevlt a "poor quality leader" as well, saying she was 'blind or didn't care'.

For ths sake of argment, if Jackie Kennedy slept with Aristotle Onassis during a hard time with JFK when she went off to his yacht, and they dealt with it, would you have proven JFK was a "poor quality leader"?

Monika who???????????????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe Monica Goodling who took a pleas agreement in Gonzalesgate.

Mix the punch, drag out the dickens, even if the prospect sickens, brother here we go again.

So what, Monica blew it. Do we need a blow by blow description rerun now?

1) Hillary had/has political ambitions - Eleanor did not.
2) Same goes with Jackie.
3) Having known the Kennedy family back in the late 50's/early 60's; I respected JFK as a military officer. My opinion of him as a president is different.

Hillary could have nipped this in the bud - but if she did so; it would have potentially had an impact on Bill's political career. That was something that she was not about to chance. She wanted him to get to the WH and stay there - giving her leverage to get into national politics and move on up.

You can choose to respect her; I do not.

I quite frankly can't understand all the opposition obsession with Hillary Clinton.

Its quite typical in modern world politics for close relatives to also springboard into a political career with a slingshot boost from their more famous relative. There are many
US states that have replaced their male governors with the wife of the very man vacating the office. There was Eva Peron in Argentina and many many other examples of wives and relatives stepping up, both males and females, and in many cases doing an excellent job of governance when they get elected. On the male side, George H. Bush and George W. Bush spring to mind along with the Edward Kennedy.

So why should only Hillary Clinton be accused of taking advantage? During the democratic primaries of 2008, it was clear Hillary knew more about the issues and their history than Obama did. After all Hillary had been in the thick of national politics since 1992 and in politics much longer than that. And if she had not been blind sided by the charisma of Obama, Hillary would likely be President of the USA right now.

Like many American voters, I felt that Obama was more often on the right side of the issue than Hillary was, and that even Hillary was more on the right side of the issues than McCain or anyone from the GOP for that matter. But for the first time in eight years, I could not summon up any visceral hate for McCain, Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama. And I had always considered Hillary Clinton as just another politician, with a certain positions on issues, and now Hillary can add Secretary of State to US Senator on plus side record of her political resume.

Its somewhat ironic that the Limbaugh hate machine had 17+ years invested in demonizing Hillary and it only served to help elect Obama. And now Hillary, as a loyal team Obama player may not be grabbing headlines like Condi Rice did, but IMHO, Rice did everything to earn the title of a more than kindasleezy liar. As for that other GWB Secretary of State, Colin Powell, it was sad to see the inner circle of GWB&Co suck every ounce of integrity out of Colin Powell and then discard him for having too much integrity.
