So I bought an item from a seller in Canada and paid him with an International Money Order. I have bought stuff from Canada this way at least 3 times before, no issues whatsoever.
This time the guy says his bank is holding the money for 15 days until it shows up on his account so he won't ship until then.

WTF!!!!?
Is this normal? I have never heard of this before. All guys I've traded with have shipped the items the second he got the money order, no questions asked.

There is no Heat involved. It's a guy from a RC car forum who has sold a few things before and had a bunch of cars for sale. He gave me all his info including phone and I actually talked to his wife.

If the buyer hasnt seen an international MO before (ive never seen one) then i dont think its unreasonable for them to be cautious, especially with all the fake WU MOs out there.

Fifteen days is a bit long it normally takes 5 working days to clear a bank draft or money order.

I've never had to wait even a day before... and now that i think about it, i've cashed a $1200 MO before.

I can't remember the circumstances, but I remember having to wait for a MO to clear once. I think it was a non-international MO. Really not sure.

But because it's a MO, it should be cashable on the spot.

Usually the best to send to Canadian's are International Postal Money Orders.

That's the one I sent. I always use them.
