Is there a solution on a lost MO in the mail? All I got is an empty envelope with nothing inside...in which the MO was supposed to be in the envelope. It wasnt sealed so it must've been dropped out or taken out. Had this happen to any of you before? What kinds of solutions did you come to with the other party?

SOSTrooper, I would have to say it depends on which company the MO came from, I'm sure different companies handle lost MO's in different ways.

Every money order comes with a stub, did you happen to keep that stub. If you did, take it into the place, and you can get your money back, then send another money order.

The purchaser can file paperwork to see if it has been cashed, and if not they can give a refund. If it was a USPS money order, the information is on their website I believe.

I had to put out a trace on a USPS money order once because of a now banned troll here.

Well it's is their job to get the MO to you... I usually wrap my MO's in extra paper so theives can't easily tell what's inside. If it's just an MO inside a regular envelope you can just hold it up to the light and see exactly how much it's worth :Q

"If your money order is lost or stolen, you must present your customer receipt to apply for a replacement. For a small fee, you can obtain a copy of a paid money order up to 2 years after the date that it is paid. "

I buy all MO's only through USPS and I ship them Priority with signature confirmation. Makes it a one-stop place in case any problems arise.

I received an empty envelope today, where the MO was supposed to be inside. Envelope wasnt sealed at all, the glue strip is 'unwatered.' In other words, the glue strip is still shiny under the light. I'm hoping the guy is online now so he can get back to the PO and report it missing.
