Doesn't matter. They do the same things about equally well.

Personally, the fewer Microsoft products on your computer, the better.

I use Quicken because I had it laying around. Money is cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

The latest version of Money apparently requires IE6. That may make a difference to you.

I am using Money 2003, i have been a user of Quicken for years now and just recently switched.
Money 2003 has the same base set of features as Quicken, but I find Money 2003 is VERY, VERY sluggish. I see delays when entering in transactions, and I am running a 1.2ghz cpu and 512meg ram....more than enough to run a personal finance program.

I just grabbed Quicken 2003 Home and Business Premier edition and I plan to uninstall Money and go back to Quicken, it just runs so much faster!

I picked up Quicken. Reviews and user opinion put them head to head, but like sechs said, the less MS the better. ;)

I've been using quicken for about 8 years, currently using 2002. I've never tried MS money, altho I never will either. Quicken is awesome...fast, flexible, extremely easy to download and quickly categorize, and very very stable...I highly recommend it.

been using Money for about 3 years now...I was on 2000 and just upgraded to 2003. Seems a little bloated but I'll get used to it.

I tried to upgrade my dad to teh free money on his WinXP machine it took it but we could not figure out how to use it, I then tried Quicken afterwards and like it, very easy to use. I just upgraded to 2003 and it is good too, a lot more features but still easy to use.

We use both. Well, I taught my wife how to use Money 7 years ago 'cause it came free with the PC purchase. I use Quicken 'cause it seems less bloated than Money & the compatibility with my tax software but my wife refuses to covert to Quicken. The best thing is it helps me to keep a secret account away from my wife.

I've been using M$ Money 98 on WinXP
Have either of these (Money or Quicken) been ported to Linux? Is there a good Linux application for personal finance?

I use Money 2003. Have been a Money user since version 1998 or so...i think its a good program.

it does take a while to setup in a good way...to really understand how to handle your money and investments.

I don't know why people say "less M$ products the better"....please some one share the hate with me.

It works like this. If you buy from the smaller company you help support a wider section of the industry. More little guys developing software. More innovation. If you only buy from MS eventually there is only MS products.

Microsoft makes fine products. (Ignoring what they did with windows so that they could "prove" that the os was intertwined with all its applications.) But they rarely innovate.
