ok it s only possible to upgrade my existing setup (see first post)
so scsi is not an option, so that is why i have chosen another IBM 75GB Hard Disk
as i have just recently gone RAID but as u can see from setup i only have 1 75GB IBM & 1 21GB IBM so not ideal to get best.
ok WHICH GEFORCE 3 ? and JUNTHIN thanx for all the info m8, u are a star ;-)
that GFX card u mentioned above GEFORCE 3 ? can it do all it can but more ?
and i would like the best laptop money can buy, and btw i am SONY BiAS ;-) LOL

my 75GB IBM ? It`s ATA-100 this is not as good as the 60GB ?

if youre thinking about the Geforce3, why not check Anandtech's reviews? They reviewed a whole bunch of them, so you could aways check that out. as for the ELSA Gloria DDC, IIRC that is the professional version of the Geforce3. It'll perform exactly like a regular Geforce3, and is of no need for people who do not do computer design

i can only buy one drive more for a RAID array or my boss will ask questions.
He IS A CHILLED GUY. BUT......... he is top of the line sys admin for a HUGE COMPANY IN NORWICH

i happen to be in the position that i can buy the best LAPTOP AVAIL, but with my desktop computer listed on first post only hardware to compliment or upgrade my existing setup so RAID IDE only which is why i ask for so much advice for this great forum

so to recap (1) Notebook/Laptop (Sony Vaio Fseries 1Ghz PIII) (2) IBM 75GB Hard Disk (3) Creative Geforce 3 ?? or ?
(4) Sony 21` Monitor (can`t remember series but best avail)


so what price is the BEST geforce 3 and BEST ( oh aye and not forgetting sleekest looking ) laptop that i can buy IN THE UK.
that is why i like the VAiO cos they are sleek but u end up paying over £3000 for it and it has a crap graphics card is this correct ??? and i ould want 512mb RAM with it, sleekest lookin carry case etc.

just to give u a hint of where i am coming from
