money limit to cash it out?

of an ATM or in person?

In person.....as much as the bank feels comfortable giving you. This will depend on the size of that branch and how much cash they have on hand.

ATMs usually range from $300-500 per day, but that can vary.

If it's a withdrawl in person, they'd let you take up to as much as you have in your account.

huh?

do you mean "how much will Bof A allow you to take out of a cash machine at one time/ in one day?
The best answer to that question will be found here: 1.800.432.1000

I asked my GF that a few weeks ago, and she works for BofA... If you're making a very large withdrawl, you need to call them in advance and let them know. They will cash you out as much as you want, but they need to have advance notice so they can order the money to the specific branch. It's suprising how little cash banks keep these days.

They used to limit my daily withdrawals to $600 I believe. I requested the daily limit to be raised at a local branch. Actually, this was when my account was still under Fleet.

Not true. Kalvin00 is correct. Not all Banks have cash deliveries every day. If you want to withdraw a large amount of cash, you will have to call them ahead of time.

Of course, "large amount" is a relative term. We had one customer withdraw $20,000 in cash once. It was stolen from him right outside the bank.

A 600 limit??! I've heard of ATM limits set at a few hundred dollars, but not from inside the branch.
AFAIK, most banks have a limit that's in the thousands; at least 2 or 3, unless you give them advance notice.

Yep, we get cash deliveries once a week...

Edit: And DrPizza, most banks will be able to give you $10-20K if you wanted on the spot.

because i'm going to get like $540 in check and i want to know if i can cash the whole money out in person.

You should be aware that unless the check is from the bank you cash it at they can (and usually do) refuse to give you more cash on the check than you have in your account at that time. They generally want you to deposit the check until it clears. Not always, depends on the bank and your relationship with them.

As far as I know they will. If you have that in the bank anyway then there's no difference in just depositing the check and taking that amount out of your own cash, so I don't see what the problem could be.

Yeah, if it was a huge amount, you need prior approval but they still let you withdraw it. Since he was asking here, I assumed he wasn't talking about 10 or 20 thousand dollars though.

$540 is just a regular check, add 2 more 0's to the end then you might have a problem.
