Monday Night Football...

Where did this guy come from? He sucks. I'm not really happy with any aspects of ESPN taking over MNF. The NFL should have left well enough alone.

He's a sports writer from washington, dc and co-hosts PTI. I like him. People were/are saying that he could be another Howard Cossell.

Washington Post columnist, sports radio talk show host, PTI anchor.

I think he's great on the radio and on PTI, but he hasn't been great on MNF.

I love him. He's not the color or play by play guy (that's Theismann and Tirico), but he brings some witicism and humor to the telecast.

They need to get rid of Theisman actually.

but the whole crew was totally outshown it week #1 when there were 2 Monday Night games, and the other crew w/ Dick Vermeil doing color commentary was WAY better.

WTH is this preyhunter guy?

This has been brought up before. especially after the 1st broadcast.

he comes off as poor because if you watch them there seems to be a tension between him and theisman.

Also they seem to be restricting him to only make comments here or there. Not letting giving him free reign. Personally 3 people are just way too many in the booth.

They don't need to give him free reign. He can't seem to keep his yap shut and let anyone else finish a sentence. He's obviously well loved on these boards, but he's gotta be one of the worst football commentators I've seen. Maybe he has a sense of humor that I just don't get. I don't know.

I do know one thing...Syringer needs to finish a story before he criticizes others. 😛

I'm tired of people whining about the commentary, just watch the game and try and ignore it. It doesn't bother me. Tony is great though, Joe is almost always wrong, other guy seems alright.

This game has been a disgrace by ESPN, IMO. What was Charles Barkley doing on the air? And in the first half, I believe there were more commercials than *plays*.

I was compelled to post something too...I love watching football...but god these guys make it hard to watch...my ears are bleeding. If they could...I think they would go down on Brian U. I don't know what game they are watching...granted he is a great player...but when NO ONE blocks him...how hard is it to make a tackle....they are making him out like he is the second coming of christ...

They don't say anything when he gets beat in pass coverage...but when he makes a tackle he is superman...

As part of the whole not starting a new thread thing, I just have to say that this whole having a guest thing sucks. Badly. Really badly. Maybe they put them there to make Tony not look so horrible.

They need to have Jon Chelesnik on MNF.

Why they kept Theismann is beyond me. He was already part of a horrible crew, the Sunday Night group from last year, and deserves to be announcing I-AA regular season games.

But I haven't watched much MNF since early in the season. Based on what I saw then, Al Michaels would've had a much better shot at making the Kornheiser experiment work to some degree. Partnered with an ex-jock who doesn't come across as a dick and is capable of joking around a bit, somebody like Dan Dierdorf, and it would have been less awkward at least.

NFL sells the rights to broadcast the games to the highest bidder.
