I watched Antitrust this weekend, at home on my computer (read: divx is good ;)).

It was a pretty good movie, IMHO.

I was going to rent me some sopranos this weekend, but I felt like total crap most of the weekend and didn't want to leave the close vicinity of my couch.

I did catch Gladiator and TWINE on network TV though. They KILLED gladiator, worst Movie to TV transfer EVER. We're not talking cutting out just some violent scenes, they killed EVERYTHING up until the Battle of Carthage. Just completely took it out. It went from the title screen to the moments before the battle. They chose to edit in all the deleted scenes from the DVD for some reason.

CBS killed some parts in TWINE too, the scene with Elektra at the church and they cut out the part from where Bond meets up with the guys and the plane until it lands. I fell alseep shortly after they defused the bomb, so I don't know what else they axed.

I was speechless about Gladiator though, I mean, I can understand cutting out the first battle because of the violence, but come on. everything else there is FINE and CRUCIAL to the storyline. They had it in a 2 hr window though, which means the movie needs to be condensed for about 20-30 min of commercials, but still. At least give it a 3 hr window and save the movie!

Actually it was a "To be continued..." until presumably next Friday. I forget exactly where it cut off, but I know they haven't had the first battle in the Colliseum. But yea, they hacked the crap out of that movie.

Saw "Real Women Have Curves". Pretty good movie. Date material for sure.

I wondered that, I think my local ABC affilate accidently aired them backwards, because all the promo's were saying "for the first time on network TV...yadda yadda". It actually did go to the end of the movie when I watched it, but it sounds like they split the movie right before the Battle of Carthage, and my ABC affilate showed the wrong tape :D

Carmen electra's not in TWINE, its some Italian actress...she did a pictorial in Maxim a few years back.

I rented and watched an indy called Scotland, PA. Basically an adaptation of Shakespeare's "MacBeth" set in 1975. Hilarious in a vaguely bizzare way.

I wasn't taking about Carmen Elektra. I was talking about Sophie Marceau, who played Elektra King in the movie.

I know my bond films :D

Heh, they had the first half on Friday, and the second half on Saturday. They gave it a 4-hour window -- you just had to watch both parts! :)

I saw Secretary last week.

A girl asked me to watch it with her and it turns out that she is attracted to that kind of stuff.
:Q :Q Whoa! :Q :Q

Can you tell me - does James Spader actually look for nothing but these roles?
I used to think he was a great actor to fit in all those quirky roles. Now, I don't think he is acting. He must be that weird!

Did any of you see the first one, realize how bad it was and then think that a "straight to video" AP2 would somehow be better?

yeah, I saw that on video. Rosanne Arquette as some sort of freaky half-woman, half borg that Spader gets it on with. Projects like this get greenlighted by studios. I wonder what the ones are where they go, "whoa, we can't do that. That's too freaky!"

One girlfriend bought me the movie, Romance, for my birthday. Was she trying to say something to me about the characters and us, or did she really just like the kinky stuff. I still don't know. I seem to attract the weird girls that look normal but...

It is interesting to note that the Secretary screenplay was written by two women. It seems that more and more sexy, sultry movies and shows are written by women nowadays.
