Monday Morning QBs: McNabb / Limbaugh -- Did Rush get the last laugh?

I find it fascinating how the guy gets injured on a cheap shot late hit, and he takes all the blame...

I'm not saying Carolina didn't play well, but talk about cheesy.

First thing Philly needs to do is sign some WRs with some cojones.

No, Rush was wrong to say that McNabb was a second rate QB, but he might have been right in saying that the NFL was promoting any black QB it could.

At the time McNabb wasn't playing very well and if there was any pressure to promote him as being great then it was unjustified.

There are a allot of teams that could only hope to have McNabb as their QB.

Getting back to the game:

McNabb wasn't the same after the late hit.

Lets see, McNabb leads his team to a 12-4 season in which he battled against an injury on his throwing hand. Where else but in Limbaugh's racist's world would the color of McNabb's skin be the topic and not his skill, talent, and intelligence?

You guys fail to see the point.

McNabb played hurt. Very hurt. McNabb led the Eagles to the NFC Championship and played very hurt in it.

That is no small feat. Just because a team doesn't make it to the super bowl, that doesn't mean that they suck or are a failure.

How was it a late hit? I've watched it several times. Are we watching the same game here?
How about "Because the refs didn't call the play dead when they should have McNabb suffered a rib injury by getting hit while laying sprawled out and defenseless on the ground"

You're talking about when McNabb was down by contact because one of the Carolina defenders got hold of his shoe?

I don't think the guy that hit him could have seen that. It should have been called, but you can't blame the defender that hit him. I don't know that it would have made a big difference.

I'm not blaming the Panther player.

By the very definition of the word it is not a late hit UNLESS the referees had blown it dead. Thus it was just a regular hit that hurt McNabb. Regardless of McNabb being the on the ground the refs should have blown it dead. Like I said I didn't see a late hit. Plus you can't honestly expect even the best ref crew and players to have been able to see that shoe get touched. I mean that's just a pretty damn high expectation.

Could the coach have challenged it? I don't remember what was on the clock when it happened.

I guess I'm a racist then because I've always felt McNabb was overrated. Farve plays hurt all the time and so do numerous other players. It's not like they are being paid 500 dollars a week for their services. They are being paid millions of dollars to play the game. The only reason McNabb's skin color had anything to do with it is because Rush said he thought people overhyped McNabb's ability because he was black. I've never understood how mentioning something like that made Rush racist. I'd like you to explain to me how Rush's comments made him prejudiced, made him appear to say that blacks were inferior, or that McNabb lacked something because he was black. Simply mentioning his race as a cause of his overhype is about as racist as you always calling anyone who mentions the word "black" racist. You do it an awful lot. Some people have a hard time with what the word racism means.

I honestly don't have a clue. I only saw the replays of it at various times throughout the game.

How is that me looking for a fight, jackass? You responded to a specific portion of my post and then said you didn't mention the word late in your post. That was totally inconsequential to what I said, because I asked how it was a LATE hit and you gave a response about HOW it was a fvcking late hit. If anyone was looking for a fight it was you.

You are not allowed to HIT someone on the ground. Touch yes, hit no.

And, the way that the rules are now that protect the QB any need to touch a downed QB is negated once his forward progess is stopped, the whistle is automatically blown.

So without spy satellites how could a player and the refs tell his shoe was tap danced on?
