I'm ordering an oem cpu and was wondering if monarchs 3 year warranty is worth it for 15 dollars. I do plan on overclocking so would i just instantly void it anyway? Thanks, Rob

It would probably void it "technically". Id say, save your $15. :p Opterons are server cpus, very reliable. I wouldnt worry about it. Id doubt it dies in 3 years. Now, of course, dont fry it trying to oc it to high.

This is my 3rd combo from them. Have had decent luck up until this last one. Ordered it before Thanksgiving and recieved it the 26th (came in good time). Then the trouble started, using DFI, OCZ and monarch for advise I finally ended up sending the combo back and ulitimately found out the dfi ultra d motherboard was bad. They recieved it the 12th of Dec and shipped it back to me the 20th of Dec. IF i hadn;t stayed on top of it everyday via phone calls and forum discussion I honestly feel it would of been at least a month. All in all, they do a pretty good job but they "go by the book". They are definitely in charge of the rma process and consider your needs or thoughts pretty much irrevelant. If you check out some of their threads in the post sales section of the forums you see some people who have a nightmare of a problem and others who get their work don fairly good.

The biggest thorne in my saddle was the fact that to send it back to them (RMA) I was told to use the prepaid label that came with my initial package. There was no premailed label for me to use any of the other 3 combos that I bought from them in the past year. I have read where other people were told the same thing about the labels and he didn't have one either. He had a complete system and had to spend $70 to send it back. Hate to see them lie about it but thats what has happened in these particular instances. Granted I was told they would send me one and it would take 5 days to get to me........hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They have a high rating at resellers thats for sure but I was really stunned by all the negativism in the forums the past few weeks as I frequented them often due to my situation. They are a growing company and are bound to have problems as they continue experiencing this....good management would help elivate this problem. I know if you have a bad motherboard under warranty and it goes out after the 30 days, you will have to sit until they rma it back to the maker and the manufacturer will send them another one out...can last to up to a month...

hope this helps
