I'm looking at a X2 3800+ cpu/mobo bundle from monarch which looks like a really good deal considering you get a couple of games tossed in. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get them to send a combo w/out installing the heatsink (I'm going to get the retail cpu). I emailed once and was told they don't, but I thought I read somewhere that it might be possible--just wondering if it's worth trying to get a different answer if I keep pestering them.

Thanks

Testing the combo requires them to install the HSF.

You might order from newegg instead, I believe they offer some of the same AMD-sponsored free games.

yea I couldnt avoid the installation either, had to buy their cheapest hsf and had to clean the goo off the cpu... The cpu had scratches from the heatsink installation, just thought you might want to know...

I was only able to see a free copy of Nero included w/ the X2's over at Newegg--is there somewhere else there where games are included w/ components and/or combos?

mwave.com has a bundle for everything almost it seems,..but half the time you can buy what you want seperatly from newegg for less or work somethin much cheaper for that matter,..like others would prolly say,..id rather do it myself in the end anyway ;)
