I had accidentally double ordered something from them and realized it no more than two minutes after I hit order. So I sent them a notice through their website form letter stating all the details and which order to cancel. About 2 days later (when the orders was indicated to be "processing", and not shipped yet), I got a further email from one of their reps requesting clarification of the orders. I then repeated what I said in the letter - that order # so-and-so was in error, and should be cancelled immediately before it ships. The rep stated that it would be done right away.

Imagine my surprise to see my cancelled order charged on my credit card statements. The subsequent phone inquiry with Monarch - "Could take up to a month to clear".

Good pricing on the ram, but very slow processing times on a supposedly in-stock product (took nearly a week and a half from order placement to shipping notice) and this issue above would make me hesitant to order from them in the future.

Don't hold your breath on that. It has been nearly 2 months since they told me your money should be back in soon, 1 month ago. Your best bet is to call your credit card company and make them take action to get the refund.

I ordered a video card from them and realized it wasn't the one I want, so I refused to sign for it and told the guy send back to the seller. I was furious that they charged me for the 15% restocking fee. I filed a chargeback and amex gave me back the money.

So they should bite the shipping and handling because you ordered the wrong thing and didn't stop the order until it had already shipped? That's ridiculous. You're the one who fvcked up, why should they be out money because of it?

I've had a horrible experience with them. It literally took one month for me to get my order. It took numerous calls to customer serivce to find out what the deal was, lots of jumping through hoops, etc. Seriously guys, if i bought it and you charged me for it, (especially my 4$ fee for priority status, HA!) then I should see it shipped within no more than a week.

I wish my mom and I were more aware of her credit card company's services. It took me 3 months to tell my mom she could request a chargeback (she will do it tomorrow when their offices are open). I know this may be a pathetic appeal to emotion, but taking advantage of a minor and an almost 60 year old woman who has dealt with cancer and diabetes is a pretty $hitty thing for monarch to do.

That's true, I guess it was an excuse about why my mom didn't do the chargeback earlier. I'm just a dumb kid and I haven't seen her credit card's terms and conditions other than it was a steep 15% interest since she had bad credit. My mom isn't as sharp now shes older and occasionally(a bit of an understatement) forgets things.

Monarch is just a waste of time. I've made 3 orders with them, and all 3 orders had issues. First was a particular motherboard which I e-mailed ahead of time to make sure they had the new version - was still sent the older one, had to rma to get the proper board. A year later I had to give away that board to get another machine working pronto, and went to order a replacement. Well, it's a year later, and the website clearly states they sell the newer version in the description, yet still received the old, and another rma to get the proper board. And lastly, ordered an in-stock item that, without any indication what-so-ever besides no package showing up, was actually out of stock & was about a 2 week delay.

Why would you be furious? It's not Monarch's fault you ordered the card. And you knew the policies before you placed the order.

I posted this, "
I will keep you guys up to date with my situation to see if Monarch Computers really is keeping up with their promise to improve customer service. Since i'm going to get my mom to initiate a chargeback tomorrow, I asked monarch if they could recompensate the interest of my $240 order which has been stolen from me for 3 months at a 15% interest rate. It may sound like suggesting a compensation credit of around $100 is a little steep, but that's how long they have been keeping it. I will give you guys an update if I get anything at all (or if I dont). However, as of now, reluctance to purchase anything from them would be prudent since they are more than willing to charge your credit card in 5 seconds and wont refund your money if you cancel anything. Consider this, not one person in this thread has ever said that they received their refunds from monarch at all. So far, there's been people with 6 months resorting to a chargeback, 2 weeks resorting to a charge back, four months resorting to a chargeback, and me, for 3 months resorting to a charge back.", in the now locked (presumably due to out of hand person insults/trolling) monarch hot deals thread. I'll post updates to my situation here to give you guys an idea if they really are shaping up.

It's been a week since i contacted this monarchjoe via PM on AT and email. I got no response. Unfortunately, my mom's credit card company won't do an instant chargeback and we are going to have to go through a long dispute process that involves mailing them evidence. Would anyone else in a similar situation be interested in contacting an Atlanta news station with this? I'm sure they have enough victims of this no refund bull$hit to make this a veritable danger in need of a widespread warning. Essentially they are abusing interstate transactions because legal action against them would be costly and difficult. I'm also curious if there are any Monarch victims that reside in Georgia, because if they don't do this $hit in their B&M stores, they really are trying to screw over their customers in other states.

It seems that monarch joe has responded to me right after I made the above post. He did solve my problem, has refunded my money, and issued me $100 store credit for the 3 months I had to wait for my $240 refund and the interest charges incurred by it. They should fill the entire monarch staff with joes. However, there was (maybe is still there) something crooked at monarch if they made me hold out 3 months for a refund and it was solved in 2 seconds after i publicly expressed my exasperation. Since I have been issued $100 store credit, I will purchase from them again, but I will be very reluctant after I spend that $100 because 3 months of heart ache can't be fixed that easily. (especially since the interest charges come up to just a little over $100).

I don't know about you guys, but i seriously haven't heard from one person on this forum that they received their canceled order refunds on the promised one month. Every horor story here involved a charge back filed to their credit cards.
