Monarch Computers....BEWARE

:| They are now "closed" during business hours, and their website no longer lists their phone number on the front page, though it is listed elsewhere. 1-800-611-0875

I ordered a part from them, and they charged my credit card but never told me the part won't be in stock, and never will be. The last time I talked to a person was 3 weeks ago. Now it seems they are closing up shop.

Anyone live near their address willing to stop by and see whats going on?

Monarch Computer Systems
5242 Royal Woods parkway suite 160
Tucker, GA 30084

edit: It does look like Monarch is closing shop. I wonder what happened. 🙁

They don't look like they are "closing up shop."

And most businesses close at 5pm. Have you tried contacting them during normal business hours?

Oh, i have been trying to call them, email them, fax them. I have had NO reply for well over 3 weeks.

They're pretty much done. I doubt you'll get a refund on your part, but you can always call your CC company and do a chargeback. Good luck.

Yeah, it's amazing how quickly they rose up and how quickly they've fallen.

And OP, calling your CC company and disputing the charges sounds like your best course of action right now.

See post above yours. The level of service from Monarch lately has been that of a shady scam parts dealer instead of a quality parts dealer like Newegg (who Monarch competed with well for a little while).

Yeah, i already called up my CC company and they told me i'm not liable for the charges.

It still upsets me since the guy I talked to about a refund lied to me twice about the computer case I ordered not being in stock. Finally he admitted that the case wouldn't ever be in stock, and asked if i wanted another similar priced case. I told him no, and he said he would issue a refund process. That was suppose to take 30 days, and now its on day 38 with no refund on the CC. And now, no replies whatsoever from anyone at Monarch. Reseller Ratings used to be high for Monarch, i think around an 8.5 Now they are down in the 3's.

i hope someone gets jail time for swindling people out of money.

I found out they suck 2 years ago when I ordered a video card and refused delivery. the card sent right back to them and they charged me 15% restocking fee. I called up amex and they took care of that for me.

Although they're not out of business, while I was reading your post I was reminded of outpost.com . I've ordered from them 3 times, and each time the products showed as in stock, but about a week after they'd charged my credit card I'd get an e-mail saying the product was on backorder and there was no ETA. All 3 times I had to have my money refunded because they do business poorly in this manner.

Wow. They used to be one of the three sites that I checked before buying (Newegg, ZZF, Monarch). I guess I need to find a new third site.

But conveniently their site still works!

Sure, but check out their inventory. There's no selection and what's there is junk. They now group memory with motherboards into a one page list instead of that thorough memory selector system they used to have.

They are indeed, by all appearance, closing up shop. Which is a shame because they were one of the top non-CA computer component retailers.

If keeleysam can explain resellerratings.com and still give MonarchComputers a rep, i'd be impressed.

Us fvckers stir up crap like this?

Go look at resellerratings.com and see how many people are getting shafted.

The only thing worse than crying wolf about a company is blind faith and support of an obviously failing and what seems to be unresponsive company.

I remember 6 years ago, when i order my own custom built computer from them. They had great service back then. Their website is no were near as good as it used to be. Like some earlier mention about the motherboard and memory was separate. Now they are bunch together. For the processor, they combine amd and intel together along with heatsinks. It used be, if you wanted to check out processor. Click on processors, then it gave you the option, do you want amd 939, amd 754, intel 755, intel 476 and etc. Now it just plain confusing how it is setup.
